Ear Candling

Serenity Salt Spa’s ear candling treatment is a relaxing and therapeutic method. Many people use it to promote ear health. This age-old practice works to relieve the ear of wax, water and debris, pain and discomfort. The warmth & smoke assist the body’s natural process to excrete impacted earwax during the day after candling is performed.

Ear candling is a form of alternative therapy in which the tapered end of an ear candle is placed in a person's ear while the other end of the candle is lit, in the belief that earwax and other impurities are drawn out of the ear canal by a partial vacuum created by the candle flame.

Benefits of Ear Candling

  • Hygienic treatment of ear

  • Release of head congestion due to sinusitis, allergies, colds, and flu

  • Removal of Candida (yeast) and relieving itchy ear

  • Detoxification of sinus and lymph system

  • Can eliminate ringing in ears (Tinnitus)

  • Regulation of ear pressure

  • Facilitates other body work

Ear candle practitioners do not claim that they cure these conditions, only that it will help to bring balance and promote healing. There are some myths regarding what happens during the candling experience. One of these is that the smoke enters the ear canal and softens the wax which is then drawn back up through the candle. This is the most common description of how candling works due to the fact that some of the wax from the candle itself may make its way down the inside of the cylinder and when cut open afterward is likely to resemble a waxy yellow substance that resembles ear wax.
